Who runs this site
TrackScanlon is researched, written, and maintained by constituents of Pennsylvania's 5th District. It is not affiliated with any party, campaign, committee, or organization, and it does not endorse candidates. The site's costs, including hosting, the domain, and email delivery, are paid out of pocket by district residents. It accepts no advertising and no outside funding.
Where the information comes from
Every vote is sourced to the Clerk of the House and Congress.gov. Every campaign finance figure is sourced to the Federal Election Commission, sometimes as tallied by research organizations that are named wherever they are used. Financial disclosure claims link to the disclosure PDFs filed with the Clerk. Nothing on this site relies on anonymous sourcing, and pages state the date their data was retrieved where it matters.
Correction policy
Accuracy is the point of a reference site, so corrections are treated as a feature. Any claim shown to be factually wrong is corrected promptly, normally within 48 hours of verification. The corrected page carries a dated note describing what changed, and corrections of material errors are also disclosed in the next email to subscribers.
A useful correction request includes the page link, the statement in question, and a pointer to the primary source that contradicts it. Disagreements about emphasis or framing are welcome as feedback, but formal correction notices are reserved for factual errors.
How this site is built
TrackScanlon is a hand-built site. It shows no ads and never sells or shares reader data; basic analytics are used only to understand which pages people find useful. It is written in TypeScript using Next.js and React, and hosted on Netlify. Email alerts are delivered through Buttondown, and page views are counted with GoatCounter, an open source analytics tool that uses no cookies and tracks no one. Vote and campaign finance data are pulled from the public sources listed above and kept as plain, reviewable data files, so every figure on the site can be traced back to its source.
